It’s another big weekend of MLR action as we rapidly approach the final push for the playoffs. This week features some big inter-conference battles, as well as a huge Eastern Conference match. Read along for your weekend preview and match predictions.

Houston SaberCats vs. Toronto Arrows
Saturday, 8 p.m. Eastern at Aveva Stadium

This is a massively important inter-conference clash as both teams fight for their playoff lives. Toronto’s coming off its best match of the season, a 53-point outburst vs. NOLA Gold, while the ‘Cats just dropped a tight one to LA. I’ll trust that the Arrows’ momentum follows them all the way to Houston. 31-24, Toronto.

NOLA Gold vs. Austin Gilgronis
Saturday, 8 p.m. Eastern at The Gold Mine

Austin is once again looking like the best team in the league. NOLA, meanwhile, is not, at 3-7 and fresh off a rout from Toronto. I’ll take a road win for the AGs, 41-24.

Old Glory DC vs. the Dallas Jackals
Saturday, 8 p.m. Eastern at Segra Field

Old Glory has showed better stuff of late and earned its first win of the season last week against Utah. Dallas is still looking for its first win and won’t get it this week. DC goes streaking at home, 24-20.

Utah Warriors vs. the Seattle Seawolves
Saturday, 10 p.m. Eastern at Zions Bank Stadium

After a midseason spark appeared to right the ship, Utah has sunk with four straight losses. Seattle needs to keep winning to get back into playoff position; it currently sits a point out. The visitors take it, 28-21 Seawolves.

Rugby New York vs. New England Free Jacks
Sunday, 2:30 Eastern at Hoboken Stadium

New York is a confounding team, capable of playing like one of the league’s best or laying an egg like the 43-0 stinker it dropped in LA last weekend. New England has been steady eddy, the league’s lone one-loss team. Have to trust the more consistent team in this potential Eastern Conference playoff preview, 34-28 Free Jacks.

San Diego Legion vs. Rugby ATL
Sunday, 8 p.m. Eastern at San Diego Sports Desk

Rugby ATL has to travel across the country, but will do so well-rested after a bye week. The Legion, just battled against Seattle. I’ll take the fresher team in a tight one, 31-28 Atlanta.

Last Week’s Predictions: 4-1

Season Record: 43-20
